Welcome to Edinburgh
Edinburgh is Scotland's vibrant capital city. It is a popular tourist destination due to its many festivals and ever increasing cultural attractions. Three universities ensure there is a cosmopolitan feel to the city with many bars, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs. Edinburgh is also called the Athens of the North, home of the Scottish Enlightenment in the 18th century with names such as David Hume, Adam Smith and Walter Scott leading a European intellectual renaissance.

Edinburgh enjoys a unique setting on the North Sea among seven hills. The city is a World Heritage Site with over 60,000 listed buildings and many museums, art galleries and other visitor attractions (The Castle, The Palace of Holyrood, the medieval Old Town, the Royal Yacht Britannia, and so on). Every August and September the city plays host to the world-famous Edinburgh Festival. But even the outside the busy summer months the city of Edinburgh has a wide selection of cultural events and activities.
Berlitz is right in the City Centre and offers English and foreign language courses year round.
